Introduction: The Weight of Genesis 22God asks Abraham for: “your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love.”God Tests, But He Does Not TemptGenesis 22 begins by saying God “tested” Abraham.James 1:13 makes clear that God does not tempt anyone to evil.
The Weight of What God AsksHebrews 11:19 shows that Abraham believed God could raise Isaac from the dead.
Obedience on the Road to MoriahAbraham’s obedience is immediate but not emotionless.Abraham trusts that God cannot lie, break His promise, or cease to be good.
